For instructions on installing the Chrome Extension, see How to Install the Chrome Extension. Once installed, refer to the following steps to choose your workspace.

Step 1: Open the XQ Message menu in the bottom-left corner of your Gmail inbox. Then, click Login.

Step 2: Click on the drop-down list to select from your available workspaces. Your Personal Dashboard will be selected by default. If you do not see a drop-down option, then no other workspaces have been set up with your email address.

Click Next to proceed.

Step 3: Follow the prompts to the CONFIRMATION SENT window. At this point a link will be emailed to you. Click Understood! to close the window.

Step 4: From your email inbox, open the confirmation email from XQ. Click the Confirm Your Account button to complete the process.

You are now able to encrypt and decrypt messages directly from the Chrome Extension.

Step 1: In Gmail, click the Compose button and ensure the XQ Enable encryption setting is toggled on.

Step 2: Fill out the recipient, subject, and body fields as you normally would when sending an email to a recipient.

Step 3: To insert the Google Drive link into the email, click the Insert files using Drive button.

Step 4: Select a file from your Google Drive and click the Insert button.

Step 5: Click the secure Send button.

XQ automatically encrypts the link using your pre-configured XQ encryption settings and ensures that only the recipient can view the link.

Clicking the Revoke access button prevents the link from being accessible by any users, including the recipient.

Step 1: To configure the XQ Chrome extension encryption settings, click the Compose button.

Step 2: Fill out the recipient, subject, and body fields as you normally would when sending an email to a recipient.

Step 3: Click the XQ Message Encryption Settings icon in the email menu bar.

Step 4: Use the XQ Message Encryption Settings menu to configure the encrypted email expiration date and the encryption algorithm. You can also add additional security to your email encryption by adding a Message password.

Once configured, you can send secure messages using the Chrome extension with your configured settings.

Step 1: To get started, open the email you would like to decrypt.

Step 2: XQ's Chrome extension will automatically decrypt the contents of your email and display the original message without any additional steps.

Decrypting Attachments

If the email contains an encrypted attachment, you can either download the encrypted version to decrypt manually later or decrypt it directly from within your inbox.

If you choose to decrypt it later, simply download the .xqf file onto your computer. Then, open the XQ Message tab on the left-hand side of your Gmail Inbox. Click Decrypt Files, then drag and drop the encrypted file to the drop-zone.

Alternatively, to decrypt the file directly from you inbox, hover your mouse over the encrypted file and click the Decrypt and Download button that appears on the right-hand side.

This will automatically download the decrypted original file onto your computer. Simply name it and hit SAVE to complete the process.

How to Encrypt a Message

Step 1: Open Gmail and click the Compose button to create a new email.

Step 2: Switch on the XQ Encryption toggle in the top-left corner of the message window. Then, compose your email as normal.

Step 3: Click Secure Send to send your encrypted message.

How to Include an Encrypted File.

Step 1: If you wish to include an encrypted attachment, click the XQ secure attachment button in the top-right corner of your composition window.

Step 2: On first launch, an instructional window will appear which contains steps on sending and receiving encrypted attachments. Click Okay to proceed.

Step 3: Browse for your file or drag and drop it into the gmail composition window. You will see the file saved as a .xqf file.

Step 4: Click Secure Send to complete the process and send your encrypted message.

Step 1: Click on the Install link from the Chrome Web Store HERE or search for the XQ Secure Gmail Chrome extension from the extension store.

Step 2: Click Add to Chrome, followed by Add Extension.

Step 3: To complete the setup, navigate to your Gmail account. XQ Message should now appear in your mail menu. Click on the XQ Message option to open the dropdown menu. Then, select Login.

Step 4: A Sign-In window will appear. Click NEXT followed by Understood.

Step 5: You will receive a confirmation email in your inbox titled "XQ Temporary Credentials". Open this email and click the confirm your account button to complete the process.

You are now ready to send messages and files using the Chrome Plugin that are tracked and secured by end-to-end encryption with XQ.
