Decrypting a message

Step 1: After receiving an encrypted email, you can decrypt it by clicking the Unlock Message button in the message body or by opening the XQ G Suite Add-On.

To use the G Suite Add-On, click on the XQ icon in the side panel of your G Suite inbox. The display window will automatically show your decrypted message.

Decrypting a file

Step 1: If the email contains an encrypted .xqf attachment, download the file directly to your computer.

Step 2: In your G Suite inbox, click the XQ icon in the side panel. Then, click the Decrypt File icon at the bottom of the display window. This will open the Decrypt File section of the XQ Dashboard.

Step 3: Browse or drag and drop the encrypted file into the drop zone.

Step 4: Click the DOWNLOAD DECRYPTED FILE button to download the original file onto your computer.

Step 1: To configure G Suite Add-On encryption settings, click the New Message button.

Step 2: Click the XQ icon in the menu bar and select Advanced Options.

Step 3: Use the XQ configuration menu to configure the encrypted email expiration date, encryption algorithm, and notification settings.

Step 4: You can also add extra security to your email encryption by adding a Message password.

Step 5: Once configured, you are ready to start sending secure messages.

Step 1: Click the Compose button in your G Suite inbox to start a new email. Then, click the XQ icon in the email message toolbar.

Step 2: The XQ Message interface will launch. Click the Encrypt File icon to open the file encryption dashboard.

Step 3 - Optional: In the file encryption dashboard, you can input a recipient's email address. You can enter more than one email address if you wish. Then, click NEXT.

Step 4: Set your file expiration time from the dropdown menu, then click NEXT.

Step 5: Input a file from your computer by browsing or using the drag-and-drop function. Then, click the DOWNLOAD ENCRYPTED FILE button that appears after the process is complete.

You will now have an encrypted .xqf file installed on your computer.

Step 6: The encrypted file can now be sent to recipients through your chosen delivery method. If you wish to send it via email, simply attach the .xqf file to an email message.

Step 1: In your G Suite inbox, click Compose to start a new email message. Fill out the recipient and subject fields as you normally would when sending a Gmail message.

Step 2: Click the XQ Message icon in the message toolbar.

Step 3: An XQ Message window will appear. Enter your message body, then click ENCRYPT.

Optional - Click on the down arrow icon to configure additional encryption settings.

Step 4: The body of your email will populate with a standard XQ message template that includes an Unlock Message button. Your recipient can click this button to view the message body.

Step 5: Click Send to complete and send your email.

Step 1: Compose a new message and click the XQ Encryption icon followed by the three dots menu.

Step 2: Click the Settings button followed by Login, and select Send confirmation.

Step 3: You will receive a confirmation email. The email will be titled XQ Temporary Credentials. Be sure to check your spam or junk mail if you do not see the XQ confirmation email in your inbox.

Step 4: Open the email and click the Confirm your account button.

Step 5: Once you have confirmed your account, return to your Gmail window and click the Check Authorization link in the XQ Message menu.

Your individual user account setup is now complete.

Step 1: Launch your Google Admin Console by navigating to admin.google.com.

Step 2: Click the Show more dropdown button and select Apps.

Step 3. Select the Google Workspace Marketplace option.

Step 4: Click the Add app to domain install list link in the top menu. Use the search field to search for XQ.

Step 5: Click the XQ Secure Mail Add-on and select the Domain install option. Click Continue to confirm a domain-wide install and click Allow to give XQ permissions to work in your G Suite Organization.

Step 6: Once finished installing, XQ will display a couple of onboarding videos to help you get started.

To complete setup, your organization users must follow the steps identified in the G Suite Organization - User Setup.

Additionally, to verify the recipients of your team's communications, you must add your team members to the XQ Dashboard by following the steps outlined in Creating and Managing Teams.

Step 1: Click the Install button from our website HERE or search for the XQ Secure Email extension from the Google Workspace Marketplace.

Step 2: In the Marketplace window, click Install. Log into your Gmail account.

Step 3: Follow the prompts to finish the process. Click Allow on the permissions page to give XQ sufficient permissions to work with Gmail.

Step 4: Once complete, open your G Suite inbox. Click the XQ Message icon in the side panel.

Alternatively, you can compose a new email and click on the XQ Message icon from the message menu bar.

Step 6: Click the three dots menu and select Settings.

Step 6: Click LOG IN and select SEND CONFIRMATION EMAIL.

Step 7: You will receive a confirmation email that contains a Confirm Your Account button. Click the button and follow the prompts to complete the process.

You are now ready to send secure messages and files using XQ's G Suite Add-On.
